Inline with our Host Standards, Hipcamp Hosts are expected to honor all scheduled bookings. To avoid cancellations, we encourage you to keep your calendar up to date and use calendar integration tools to synchronise your calendar with other websites.
We understand, however, that situations beyond your control sometimes arise that warrant a cancellation, such as natural disasters (flooding, wildfires) or when a Hipcamper directly requests to cancel.

Important Things to Know About Cancellations
- Host-initiated cancellations automatically initiate full refunds to the Hipcamper (including service fee*) regardless of your cancellation policy.
- Calendar dates are automatically re-opened when a cancellation is made.
- A high number of unwarranted cancellations may result in your listing being paused for investigation (find out more).
- You can modify details on an existing booking without canceling it (find out more).
*If you select the cancellation reason “Canceling on behalf of camper” service fees will not be refunded.
Canceling a booking on desktop or mobile web
- Head to the Calendar page
- Click on the booking you want to cancel
- The booking details will open in a pop-up. Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up and click the Cancel Booking button
- Choose a reason for the cancellation and write a message to the Hipcamper explaining why you had to cancel
- Confirm your cancellation and proceed back to the Calendar.
Canceling a booking via the Hipcamp App
- From the Bookings tab or the Calendar tab, navigate to the booking you'd like to cancel
- Tap on the chosen booking to view the booking details
- Scroll down until you see the red Cancel booking button
- Tap Cancel booking
- Tap Next
- Select a reason and confirm the cancellation.
