Please note: Calendar Sync tools are only available on Live listings and must be accessed on a desktop device at this time (mobile browsers are not supported).
How Does Calendar Syncing Work?
Hipcamp supports iCal synchronization, a standard format used by many booking websites such as Airbnb, VRBO, and Booking.com. By syncing your calendar, bookings made on one platform will automatically be reflected on the other, helping you keep your availability up to date and avoid double bookings.
If you are hosting on other platforms, it's important that your calendars are properly synced. When set up correctly, Hipcamp will always sync your calendar the moment before a new Hipcamp booking is placed, ensuring a double booking does not occur.
When Should I Sync My Calendars?
In order to ensure your calendar is being synchronized in the most up to date state, you can only use this feature on a Live listing. Calendars cannot be synchronized if your listing is in a Paused or Draft status.

How do I sync my Calendar?
Calendar synchronization tools are only available on Live listings and cannot be edited if your listing is Paused or Draft.
From your desktop device, there are two ways to sync external calendars:
- Click here to go directly to your External Calendars page.
- Go to your Calendar and click the Options button. Then select Sync external calendars from the dropdown menu.
Once on the External Calendar page:
- Click +Add Calendar
- Select the Site you would like to sync.
- Name your calendar (we recommend using the name of the platform you are syncing with e.g. “VRBO”).
- Go to the Export Link and click Copy to copy the Hipcamp export URL.
- Paste the copied URL into the relevant field on the other platform you wish to sync with.
- On the other platform you are using, find the export URL (it will look something like this: https://otherplatform.com/cal/32hurhwg.ics?id=48287)
- Then, copy the URL from the other platform, and paste it into the Import Link field on Hipcamp.
- Click Save and you'll see this confirmation page:
- It may take a few hours for the initial sync to activate; check back on the status later to ensure it has completed successfully.
You can revisit the External Calendars page at any time to monitor your sync connections and make sure they remain set up correctly.
