We understand that sometimes plans change. You can cancel your upcoming trip directly from your Trips page on the Hipcamp website or app.
Make sure to review the cancellation policy shown on your booking, as it determines whether your trip is refundable.
How to cancel on a Mobile browser
I can’t find the cancel button
🖥 How to cancel on Desktop:
- Log into your Hipcamp account
- Go to your Trips page
- Select the trip you want to cancel
Depending on the cancellation policy, you will see the following options:

If it is after the cancellation policy cutoff:
- Scroll down below the Trip Details section to where it says Cancellation Policy
- Click the red Cancel Booking link
- Select your reason for cancelling
- Confirm by clicking the Cancel Booking button

If it is before the cancellation policy cutoff:
- Click the Trip help button towards the top of the page
- Select Cancel Booking from the options
- Select your reason for cancelling
- Confirm by clicking the Cancel Booking button

- Select Trips from the menu
- Select the trip you want to cancel

📱 How to cancel in the Hipcamp app:
- Tap the Trips icon at the bottom
- Select the trip you'd like to cancel

💳 Will I get a refund?
Refunds are based on the Host’s cancellation policy, which is shown during booking and on your Trips page.
- If your trip is refundable, your refund will be processed immediately when you cancel.
- If your trip is partially refundable, you’ll receive a portion of your booking total back immediately, depending on the policy.
- If your trip is non-refundable, we won’t be able to issue a refund.
You can check your exact refund eligibility at any time by visiting your Trips page and selecting the booking.
Please allow up to 10 business days for your bank to post the refund, although it usually happens sooner.
Will I get my service fee back?
Hipcamp’s service fees are non-refundable, unless the Host cancels your booking. If you're not sure about cancelling, you may want to consider changing your trip dates instead.
Can’t find the Cancel button?
If you don’t see a Cancel Booking or Modify Trip button on your trip, it may be because this booking was made through one of our external partners.
In this case, there will be a link on your Trips page that will direct you to contact Hipcamp Support. Just follow the link and submit the form — our team will handle the rest.
You’ll receive a confirmation once the cancellation is complete.
