We make every effort to protect you against bad experiences before they happen. Here’s how:
- Each Hipcamper agrees during checkout that they reviewed the rules and guidelines you’ve set up. We recommend you set clear and concise rules to help Hipcampers easily keep them in mind.
- One of the core values of Hipcamp is to Leave it Better, and all of our community members are expected to uphold that value as well. Hipcampers review the Leave No Trace principles that we share with them when they book.
- If a Hipcamper is flagged for not following the Hipcamper Standards or a Host's rules, Hipcamp Support will provide clear feedback. If necessary, and in accordance with Hipcamp's own investigation and processes, they will be banned from using Hipcamp in the future.
If you would like to report a camper for any reason, please contact Hipcamp Support (click here) with details of what happened as well as the booking number. Our Support Team will follow up with you with the next steps.
You are also able to leave a review for your Hipcamper within 3 days of the trip. Please note that Host reviews of campers are only posted after a "double-blind" period. You can find more information here: How do I review a Hipcamper?
Luckily, we’re proud to say that we don't often have reports of Hipcampers behaving poorly. In fact, many Hosts often complement how respectful Hipcampers are to their land.
