When creating your Hipcamp property, you are required to select the property address/location as well as the entrance to the property. Both of these settings are used on the booking confirmation that is sent to Hipcampers.
Your property doesn’t have an address? You can absolutely list your property on Hipcamp, even if it doesn’t have a formal address. We will provide instructions for setting the property location without an address below.
How to set the Address/Property location
The address/property location you select will be included on each Hipcamper’s booking confirmation under the ‘Property address’ heading. This also determines the general location your Hipcamp property will show on the map in search.
You’ll have two options:
- Enter an address
- Locate your property on the map (recommended for remote areas)
Enter an address:
If you choose to enter an address, you should:
- Type your address
- Select the correct address from the dropdown menu
- Check the location is correct
- Click Confirm
Locate on Map:
If you choose "Locate on Map", you can:
- Search for the nearest town
- Drag the map to move the pin to your property’s exact location
- Use the + and - buttons to zoom in or out
- Click Save to save your location
If you're having trouble finding your property on the map, you can contact our Support Team for assistance. First, retrieve your GPS coordinates (check out this guide for instructions), send them to us, and we’ll update your location for you.
Verifying the entrance
The entrance point you select determines the GPS point that is included in each Hipcamper’s booking confirmation. They can click to ‘Get directions via Google maps’ to the selected entrance point.
If you have multiple entrances to your property, select the entrance or location closest to where Hipcampers will actually enter the property.
To edit the entrance:
- Click on Property
- Scroll down and click on Property Location on the left
- Scroll down and click on the map under Campers should navigate to on the right
- Use the map to find the area closest to the entrance to the property. You can click and drag to move locations, or click the arrow symbol and the + and - to zoom in or out.
- Click Save
