Making sure the location for your Land is correct is one of the most important things you can do to become a successful Host. Hipcampers expect clear, easy-to-follow instructions that will get them outside and enjoying nature quickly and effectively.
Sometimes, a Land can be really remote and not have a traditional address, such as 123 Main Street - that's when getting the latitude and longitude coordinates for your location is key. It's also super easy to do if you follow these quick steps:
Desktop/Notebook Instructions:
- Visit Google Maps
- Locate your Land by searching the general area of its location
- Click on the map to drop a pin
- Notice the pop-up box on the bottom of the map
- The latitude and longitude coordinates will be displayed on the bottom of the pop-up box
- These coordinates can be provided to Support in case of issues with your property being wrongfully displayed on a map within Hipcamp. Support can update your property location in the system from the coordinates.
iOS and Android Instructions:
- Launch the Google Maps app
- Locate your Land by searching the general area of its location
- Tap and Hold to drop a pin on the map
- Tap the Info Card that pops up once the pin is dropped
- Scroll to find the Lat and Long coordinates
- Tap and Hold on the coordinates to copy them. These coordinates can be provided to Support in case of issues with your Property being wrongfully displayed on a map within Hipcamp. Support can update your property location in the system from the coordinates.
