Leaving reviews helps other Hosts know what to expect and rewards great guests. Your feedback also encourages good behavior across the Hipcamp community.
You have 14 days after the camper checks out to write a review. During this time, neither you nor the camper can see the other’s feedback until both reviews are submitted or the 14-day window closes.

What to Include in a Review
You can keep it brief—just focus on what would help another Host.
Positive things to note:
- Good communication
- Followed rules
- Left the space clean
- Respectful behavior
Issues worth mentioning:
- Left trash or damage
- Ignored site rules
- Disturbed neighbors
- Safety concerns
Stick to facts and be respectful. Your review helps other Hosts make informed decisions.
What Happens if You Don’t Leave a Review?
If you don’t submit a review within 14 days:
- No written review appears on the camper’s profile.
- A note is added internally that the stay was completed without concerns.
However, submitting even a short review helps other Hosts and strengthens the community.
When Are Reviews Visible?
Reviews stay hidden until:
- Both you and the camper submit reviews, or
- 14 days pass (even if only one party wrote a review)
Once visible, your feedback appears on the Hipcamper's profile page.
