As a Hipcamp Host, you have the opportunity to leave a review for Hipcampers who stay on your Land. Reviews help build trust within the Hipcamp community and allow Hosts to provide feedback on camper behavior, cleanliness, and overall experience.
Why Should I Leave a Review?
Leaving a review helps:
- Recognize Great Guests – Let other Hosts know when a Hipcamper was respectful and enjoyable to host.
- Encourage Responsible Camping – Reviews set expectations for future guests.
- Improve the Community – Honest feedback helps Hipcamp remain a welcoming and trustworthy platform
When Can I Leave a Review?
You can leave a review after a Hipcamper’s stay has been completed. Hipcamp will send you a reminder email, and you’ll also see the option to leave a review in your Host Dashboard. Reviews need to be completed within 14 days and, during this period, neither Host nor Hipcamper can see the others' review.

You can leave a review from two locations:
- In your message history with the Hipcamper – a button appears on the right-hand side of your messages for 14 days after the stay has been completed.
- From your calendar view - click on the Hipcamper's booking to see their booking details. A button appears at the bottom of the booking details for 14 days after the stay has been completed.

What Should I Include in a Review?
- Positive Experiences – If the camper was respectful, friendly, and followed the rules, highlight these qualities.
- Constructive Feedback – If there were any issues (e.g. leaving trash, not following site rules), politely mention them.
- Be Honest & Fair – Keep reviews respectful and fact-based to help inform other Hosts.
What Happens if I Don't Leave a Review?
We understand that Hosts aren't always able to meet Hipcampers or provide feedback on the experience. It is up to you as a Host if you want to leave a review.
If a Host doesn't leave a review, we will assume the stay went smoothly. A note will be added to the Hipcamper's profile stating that they successful completed a booking at the unit in question. No additional information will be included.
Where can I read reviews Hosts have left of a Hipcamper?
Reviews that other Hosts have left of a Hipcamper are public on the Hipcamper's profile page. This can be found by clicking on the View profile button in your Calendar for the relevant booking or booking request. Note: The tool to view a Hipcamper’s profile isn’t yet available in the app.
Can Hipcampers Review Hosts?
Yes! Just as Hosts can review Hipcampers, campers can also leave a review about their stay. Providing a great experience ensures positive feedback and encourages more bookings in the future.
