Hosts that normally allow campfires on their properties have the ability to enact a fire ban on their property if fires are currently banned in their county/council or if they are concerned about wildfire safety at specific times of the year. When the fire ban is active, no Hipcampers will be able to have a fire when visiting the property for a Hipcamp booking.
When Host first enables a fire ban, emails will also automatically be sent out to any Hipcampers with upcoming bookings to let them know about the ban.
If a Hipcamper was expecting to have a fire when camping, they are able to cancel their trip on their trip confirmation page in their account. The refund offered will be in line with the Host’s booking cancellation policy, and the Hipcamp service fee will not be refunded. We recommend that Hipcampers check the booking cancellation policy to see what refund they are eligible to receive before canceling.
We thank everyone in our community for respecting fire safety and for helping to prevent wildfires!
