Hipcamp Hosts are expected to honor all scheduled bookings, as cancellations create a disappointing experience for Hipcampers. We ask that you keep your calendar up to date and use our calendar integrations tools to avoid having to cancel bookings.
We understand that some circumstances beyond your control may lead to a warranted cancellation (natural disasters, COVID-19, or if Hipcampers request the cancellation). However, unwarranted cancellations create a negative experience for Hipcampers, so our policy is as follows:
- 1st unwarranted cancel: We'll reach out to see if we can help, and provide a quick reminder on our policy.
- 2nd unwarranted cancel: We'll reach out again to see if we can help and understand what happened.
- 3rd unwarranted cancel: We may have to pause your property, depending on the circumstances of your cancellations.
This policy does not apply to warranted circumstances as determined by Hipcamp. Examples include natural disasters (flooding, wildfires), COVID-19 related cancellations, and when Hipcampers request that you cancel on their behalf.
Examples of unwarranted circumstances include simply changing your mind or cancelling an existing booking to instead accommodate a different one.
Here are the steps to cancel a booking.
We're always here if you need assistance setting up, syncing, or blocking off dates on your calendar, or if you have general feedback on how our calendar is working for you. Get in touch with Hipcamp Support and we'd be happy to help.
