How to search and use search filters

Do you only want to see Properties that allow you to bring your beloved furry friend? Do you need to know that your site has electric hookups? This article will cover how to search for Hipcamp locations and use filters on desktop and the Hipcamp app.

How to search on Hipcamp

• Go to Hipcamp.com
• Enter the area you are wanting to camp in the search field (this can be a city, state, or general attraction)
• Enter the dates of your trip (optional)
• Enter your group size (optional)
• Click Search
• Results will automatically populate in a list. You can scroll through the Properties and click to view more information.

Viewing results on the map

The map on a mobile device

• Toward the bottom of the results screen, you will see the Map icon. Click the icon to view results on a map.

• You can zoom in on the map to see results in a smaller area, this will show you the closest Hipcamps to your chosen location (the bubbles will indicate the location of a Hipcamp).
  
  
• You can also click on the Layers icon to access information such as cell service maps.

The map on desktop

• You will automatically see a map on the righthand side of your screen. The white bubbles represent Hipcamp properties.
  
  
• Use the + and - to zoom into a specific area. This will show you the closest Hipcamps to your chosen location
  
  
• You can also click the Layers icon to view map layers such as cell service information.

Using filters

Filters on a mobile device

• When searching on a mobile device, you will see popular search filters at the top of the screen - accommodation type, amenities, pets allowed and Instant book filters. You can swipe across to access all of these.
  
  
• To view more filter options, click the green ‘Filters' icon at the top of the screen.

Filters on desktop

• After entering your search details, click Search.
• On the following page, you’ll see different filter options on the top lefthand side of the screen under the search bar.

• From here, you are able to filter by:
  
  • Accomodation type: Campsites (tent camping), RV campsites, or Lodgings
    • If you choose to sort by RV campsites, you can select the specific type of RV you have and the length of RV.
  • Amenities
  • Instant book properties
  • Pets allowed
    
    
• You will also see the option to view more ‘Filters’. You can scroll down on the pop-up to see the full range of filters. 

• To clear your filters, navigate back to the filters and hit the Clear all button at the bottom left.
