We have created the Hipcamp Property Protection Plan that provides protection and reimbursement for up to $10,000 USD in damages to eligible property in the event a Hipcamper damages your Property during their confirmed stay, and the issue is not resolved by direct payment from the Hipcamper.
How do I initiate a claim for Property damage?
As soon as you realize property was damaged, document as much of the situation as you can. Take pictures, have a clear statement of how the damage took place, write to the Hipcamper responsible via Hipcamp Messages to understand if they have more information, and get written, third-party itemized estimates for repair.
If a resolution can’t be reached directly between you and the Hipcamper, the Support Team would be glad to facilitate the process further. Please file a support ticket and include all available documentation in your support request.
What actions are taken for a Hipcamper that damages my Property?
Depending on the situation and the resolution, it’s possible the Hipcamper will be suspended from the Hipcamp community if we feel that they can’t be trusted to go on future trips.
What countries are covered by the Hipcamp Property Protection Plan?
The Property Protection Plan is currently available in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, and France. We hope to expand this coverage in the future.
