Every Hipcamp has a base price per night that includes a set standard number of people for the booking. For example, you could decide to Host 4 people at £30 per night.
If you're able to accommodate larger groups, you are able to charge extra for additional people beyond the set standard group size. Here's how:
Setting up additional adult pricing
- Head to your Property page
- Click on Units located next to ‘Overview’
- Click Edit next to the unit you would like to edit
- Click on Unit Pricing & Capacity on the left side of the screen
- Enter the number of additional people you are able to host under your Maximum Capacity
- Below your Base Price, you'll see the option to add a price for each guest beyond your Base Capacity (You will also see a field to add additional children pricing in the UK or Australia)
- Update the price
Setting up child pricing
For Hosts in the UK and Australia, you can set up pricing for children as additional guests (aged 12 and below)
To set up child pricing:
- Head to your Property page
- Click on Units located next to ‘Overview’
- Click Edit next to the unit you would like to edit
- Click on Unit Pricing & Capacity on the left side of the screen
- Below the additional adult pricing section, you'll see the option to add a price for each child
- Update the price
Good to know:
- If you offer weeknight discounts, the percentage you set will also apply to the additional adult and child guest price.
- If you offer custom pricing through your Calendar, your pricing for additional campers will also increase at the same rate that you increase your base price for all future bookings.
- Example: If your base price is normally £50 and your additional guest or child fee is £20, but you increase your base price to £75 (+50%) on a special day, that +50% would also apply to the additional guest and child fee on that special day (£30 instead of £20).
- Children added to a booking contribute to your total capacity. If you allow up to 4 people per booking (including additional Hipcampers) and 2 adults are booked, only 2 children can be added.
- If you have multiple designated units, you'll have to set up child pricing for each unit separately.
- If you’d like to offer toddlers or infants to stay free of charge, you can do this! Don’t worry, they’ll still be covered by insurance. You just need to make this clear in your unit description.
