Why are maps helpful?
Maps help campers navigate your property with ease. A clear map shows campers where their pitch is in relation to other pitches, as well as the toilets, amenities, hookups, natural features, your house, and neighbours. You can show the entrance to your property, gates, property boundaries, where to turn or park, gates, and noteworthy landmarks. This will help eliminate confusion, lost campers, and unnecessary contact with neighbours.
What kind of map should I have?
Your map can be as simple or as detailed as you like. Maps can be hand drawn and artistic or created digitally using Google or Apple maps. Below, we provide examples and walk you through an easy way to create a digital property map.
Where should I put my map?
We recommend making your map accessible in multiple ways:
- Upload it to the end of your Hipcamp gallery—Campers can view it before arrival. (Order the map low down in your gallery to avoid it appearing at the top of your Listing).
- Send it via messages to campers—Helps ensure a smooth check-in.
- Display a physical version onsite—Provide a printed version at check-in points or common areas.
- Use Hipcamp signs—Consider ordering Hipcamp signs to make navigation even easier.
