Downloading the Hipcamp app is super easy! You can do it by following these steps:
- Open the App Store on your iOS device
- Tap the Search button, type in Hipcamp in the search bar at the top of the screen
- Tap on Get
- Done! Now you can get outside even faster!

How do I download the Android Hipcamp app?
- Open the Play Store on your Android device
- Tap the Search bar, type in Hipcamp
- Tap on Install

Why do I need to provide my location?
When you first launch the Hipcamp app, you'll be asked to provide your location. This allows us to provide you with a tailored experience when you're searching for a place to adventure to. Your location information is only available to the app, while the app is in use.
What is the Explore tab on the app?
The Explore tab is how you discover new places to go outside! Here's a quick overview of it:
Top Search Bar
The top search bar allows you to enter destination names, Hipcamp names, or keywords and it also allows you to select specific dates that you're planning on getting outside.
Quick Search
The middle search section allows you to quickly pick specific parameters when searching for a Hipcamp. This makes it super easy to find a pet-friendly place, a place that's available tonight or any of the other options shown.
Nearby Hipcamps
At the bottom of the Explore tab, you'll find the Hipcamps that are in your area. This will dynamically change depending on where you are.
What is the Trips tab?
The Trips tab is where all the information about your upcoming or past trips is! Here's a quick overview of a Trips page.
You'll need to tap on a specific Trip page to view more details. This is where you'll be able to find the directions for your upcoming stay, the Host's contact information, the rules set by the Host for your stay, and a way to modify or cancel a booking.
What is the Profile tab?
The Profile tab is where you can manage your notification preferences, reset your password, and delete your account from the Settings. You can also switch to your Hosting profile if you also Host on Hipcamp!
What about Saved Lists?
You can view your saved lists by tapping the Lists tab at the bottom of your screen. You can add or remove Properties from your lists, and rename or delete lists.

What is the offline functionality like?
Now, all of your booking details, including Host directions, GPS details, and check-in instructions, will be available offline, so it’s readily available when you need it most.
Your Hipcamp messages will also be saved offline! Even when offline, you’ll be able to see your conversation with your Host and access any important information. Day saved!
How do I force close the app?
If you're having issues with the app, you might need to force close it and reopen to get things going again! Here's how:
iOS:
- On an iPhone X or later or an iPad with iOS 12, from the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps
- Swipe right or left to find the app that you want to close.
- Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.
Here's how that looks on an iPhone X:
Android:
- Tap Settings
- Tap Apps and Notifications
- Tap the Hipcamp app
- Tap Force stop
