What do the external calendar statuses mean?
Connected: Your external calendar is currently CONNECTED and syncing with Hipcamp.
Activating: Your Calendar is ACTIVATING. This may take a few hours.
Import only: Your external calendar is IMPORTING bookings to Hipcamp but you are not exporting Hipcamp bookings back to your external calendar.
Export only: Hipcamp is EXPORTING bookings to your external calendar however you are not importing bookings back to Hipcamp.
Error: Importing and/or exporting have stopped working. Please check your links to make sure they are correct and re-import them in Hipcamp and in the external service.
Fixing an ‘Error’ in Calendar Sync
- Visit the External Calendar page
- Look for any external calendar with an error status. You can see when the calendar last imported and exported
- Click the refresh symbol next to the external calendar with an error

- Does the status change? Does the Calendar import/export?

- If the external calendar still has an error, click Edit
- If both the export link and import link are red, you should delete the external calendar
- Follow the steps in this FAQ to re-add the external calendar with fresh import and export links
Fixing ‘Import only’ in Calendar Sync
- Visit the External Calendar page
- Look for any external calendar with the ‘Import only’ status
- Click Edit
- Copy the yellow Hipcamp Export link and paste it into the external calendar of your other platform (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO)
- Hit save
- Click the refresh button to confirm that the calendar is syncing both ways

- Visit the External Calendar page
- Look for any external calendar with the ‘Export only’ status
- Click Edit
- Copy the Export link from your other platform (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO) and paste it into the Import Link field in Hipcamp
- Hit save
- Click the refresh button to confirm that the calendar is syncing both ways
