When creating a Hipcamp profile, it is our policy that you need to use your real name and not a pseudonym, your initials, or anything else other than your real full name. Hipcamp is a marketplace built on trust, and supplying this information is required as a first step to build that trust.
Unless specific accommodation has been made with a Host, the person making the booking needs to be the person going on the trip who is the main point of contact with the Host. If you are booking on behalf of another person, you need to clarify this situation with the Host and have their clear agreement.
We also value your privacy, and we will only share your first name and last initial on your public profile or with Hosts in their calendars. You can see what your public profile looks like at this page so long as you are logged in to your account.
If your profile is reported to us for not using a full or real name, then we'll get in touch to correct it with you directly. We reserve the right to cancel bookings that aren't made with a full and accurate name.
