Adding additional sites to your property is a great way to make more money on Hipcamp. If you have good ratings from Hipcampers and you currently offer no more than 1 site per acre (e.g. if you have 3 acres, you offer no more than 3 sites), you should consider adding more sites. Here's how:
- If you want to increase the number of dispersed sites, add more sites by following these easy steps.
- If you want to add a designated site or offer a structure, add another new site by following these steps.
Not sure if you'd like to add sites? Check out some of these common questions when expanding:
Do I have enough land?
Yes. You’d be surprised at how many sites you can comfortably fit on your land! Our top earning Hosts average around 1 site per acre, and sometimes more if they’re able to offer privacy of trees or natural barriers. Make the most of your space—you can always reduce your site count if it’s not working.
How much work is it?
Adding the sites is as simple as clearing spaces, and you can remove extra sites at any time if they’re too much work to maintain (we’re always here to help you with that.) Many of our top earning Hosts have found that 1-2 additional tent or RV sites are easy to maintain.
Will I be able to maintain a private experience?
Public campgrounds can cram 10 or more campsites in a single acre. There’s nothing private about that, which is why people seek out Hipcamp. We’ve found that our community is very satisfied with the privacy that 1 site per acre provides.
What about social distancing?
The health and safety of our community is our top priority during the novel Coronavirus outbreak. With that, we’ve created guidelines for safe recreation during COVID-19 that reflect the latest health and safety recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), outdoor recreation industry leaders, and our partners in rural communities.
