Basic guidelines
Taking the time to think through a great site name is the first step towards hosting greatness. Here are our top 5 tips for naming your Hipcamp site:
- 3-4 words is ideal
- Include at least one really good adjective
- If it’s a structure, include the structure
- If it’s not a structure, include the best terrain information
- Double-check your spelling is correct
If your business / land already has a name, use that. People could already be searching for it.
Search engine-optimize your site name
The title should be as descriptive as it can be in 3-4 words. Fewer than three words is too short, more than 4 starts to look weird. Search engines prefer few to no made-up words, but take this with a grain of salt ;)
A formula that does well is:
[adjective] + [point of interest, or activity] + [site type]
Here are some examples of this formula in action:
- Secluded Redwood Tent Site
- Whimsical Desert Yurt
- Private Swimming Hole Camp
- Relaxing Bubbling Creek Cabin
- Yosemite Basecamp
- Off Grid Cherry Orchard
- Dancing Goats Creamery Farmstay
- Pianetta Winery Camping
