What is Cancel For Any Reason coverage?
Cancel For Any Reason coverage (also known as CFAR) is an optional purchase during online booking that refunds a percentage of your Hipcamp booking if you cancel at least 24 hours before your check-in time. Note that check-in times vary from property to property and are set by your Hipcamp Host. Refunds are made automatically, with no claims required.

Change of plans? We got you. If you purchase CFAR with your booking, you can cancel your Hipcamp booking for any reason as long as it’s at least 24 hours before your check-in time. The policy terms are clearly stated when you book, in confirmation emails, and in pre-arrival emails. You’ll receive a refund from Hipcamp using your original payment method.
Do I need to submit a claim?
No, you don’t need to submit a claim. When you elect to cancel your trip under the CFAR policy you’ll get refunded via your original payment method.
Who pays for the refund?
All refunds are paid by Hipcamp.
How much money do I receive if I cancel my Hipcamp booking with the CFAR coverage?
CFAR refund amounts are defined when booking your policy. As long as you cancel at least 24 hours before your check-in time, you’re eligible to receive a percentage of any qualifying reservation’s total booking value (minus the CFAR premium) which will be outlined when you purchase the coverage.
How long does it take to get paid?
Hipcamp will process your refund amount immediately. It may take up to 7 to 10 business days for your bank to process the refund. If you don’t see a refund from Hipcamp after 10 business days, please contact our Support team.
How do I know when I’m getting my refund?
You’ll receive a confirmation email when your refund is issued from Hipcamp.
What’s the difference between CFAR coverage and Hipcamp’s Weather Guarantee?
CFAR lets you cancel your Hipcamp booking if you’re no longer able to go on your trip, are feeling ill, have unforeseen circumstances, or for literally any other reason. When you elect to use this coverage, your Hipcamp booking is canceled and you’re refunded for a percentage of your booking cost.
The Weather Guarantee isn’t insurance, it guarantees specific weather during the dates of your trip, protecting you if the forecast doesn’t align with the guaranteed conditions. To get reimbursement for the Weather Guarantee, you don’t cancel your Hipcamp booking.
Can I purchase both CFAR coverage and the Weather Guarantee?
You can only purchase one of the additional trip coverage options but not both. Depending on certain factors, some Hipcamp bookings will only offer one of the options or neither.
How does CFAR coverage work?
When you book a qualifying Hipcamp stay, you’ll have the option to add CFAR to your booking for a nominal fee. If you cancel your trip for any reason at least 24 hours before the check-in time, you’ll automatically get money back. The cost and refund amount vary depending on your booking and the terms will be laid out for you to review before purchasing.

What reasons does CFAR cover?
Hipcamp’s CFAR covers cancellations made at least 24 hours before the check-in time for any reason. You don’t need to explain yourself to us, but you can let us know your reasoning if you want.
Can I go back and add CFAR coverage to future bookings I’ve already made?
CFAR coverage is only available to purchase with new Hipcamp bookings.
Can I cancel the coverage?
Once you purchase CFAR coverage you cannot cancel it.
What happens to the coverage if I modify a future trip’s dates or increase headcount?
If you modify your Hipcamp booking with a CFAR policy in place, you’ll be subject to the host’s modification/cancellation policy terms and the refund amount will adjust based on the original quoted percentage. You will not be refunded for any CFAR coverage premiums, and if your booking value increases, you may be charged an additional CFAR premium.
Can you purchase CFAR coverage on all Hipcamp bookings?
If CFAR coverage is available for your Hipcamp booking, you’ll see it as an option at checkout. Some factors, like the host’s cancellation policy, determine if CFAR is an option.
