Instagram is a social media platform for sharing photos and videos with the world, and can be an especially great tool to engage with guests and generate more bookings. Here’s how to use Instagram to market your property:
- Create your account
- Set up an Instagram account, and create an easily searchable username of your farm/property’s name
- Add your Hipcamp URL to your Bio
- Use a short catchy description and include your location... for example “Welcome to our farm, 40 acres in the heart of the Lockyer Valley."
- Add your Hipcamp URL (weblink).This is the most important part, because it's how people can easily make a booking! You can find your weblink by following these steps (click here).
- Give your weblink a display title, such as “Few acres farm - book now."
- There is an option in this area to add a link to your Facebook page, if you have one, link to it here.
- Post regularly
- Take and upload some captivating photos of your property (aim high for 1 post per week, increasing up to once per day!)

- Start following accounts
- Follow friends and family, as well as some accounts that highlight your ethos (horticulture accounts, outdoor clubs, etc.)
- Experiment with “Reels”
- Take advantage of the Instagram Reels feature to add some captivating video content to your page

- Interact with any comments you get on your posts, as well as commenting on the posts of people you follow!
- Share on your “Stories”
- Utilise Instagram Stories to share casual, daily life updates about your property

- Add Hipcamp as a collaborator to your posts
- An Instagram Collaboration post is a feature that lets two users share the same post to their feed or Reels. It’s a great way to get your content out to our followers. To do this:
- Create your post or Reel via the Create menu (+ icon in the top-right of the app).
- When you reach the final Share screen, tap “Tag People”.
- From this menu, tap “Invite Collaborator”.
- Search for Hipcampuk, and tap to select them. If you selected the wrong account, simply tap the X next to their account to remove them.
- Hit “Done”to save your settings.
- Tap “Share”to publish your post to your Instagram feed.
